  • Abstract
    Parallel kinematic planer is a new type of PKM. It utilizes dominance of PKM, and extends PKM´s application. To improve the planer´s machining ability, the paper proposes a new type planer, which adopts a parallel mechanism. Then the characters of parallel kinematics and some necessary analysis are presented too. To get the stiffness model of the parallel kinematic planer, an approach is presented in this paper. That is the machine structure can be decomposed to several subsystems according to their structures, and then each subsystem´s stiffness is obtained respectively. Finally by the principle of deformation linear superposition, the mechanisms´ stiffness can be analyzed. Moreover, the stiffness of machine´s framework and plane constraint mechanism are analyzed by FEA method. And the stiffness character is further investigated by the way of simulation and experiment.
