Abstract
In metal cutting, optimal cutting parameters are greatly preferred to achieve the trade-off between cost, efficiency and quality. The cutting parameters for both rough machining and finishing of titanium alloy were optimized with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The orthogonal experiments were designed with four factors at four levels. A multiple objective model considered for material remove rate, cutting force and surface roughness was built. The optimal values of cutting parameters are compatible with analysis of theory and reality. With the computerization of fuzzy rules, a fuzzy expert system of titanium alloys´ machining was developed.
