In a direct drive mode, a load can be driven eliminating all forms of couplings. Owing to the better understanding of direct drive motors, these are making inroads to other applications. Despite this, it is fair to say that the commercial and industrial applications of direct drive motors are yet to be extensively used, commensurate with its advantages over motors coupled to the load.
