Abstract
The 3-D angles calculated by nonorthogonal joint coordinate system (NJCS) corresponds well with clinical joint angle when a motion occurs mainly one plane as normal human gait. Because the NJCS does not consider the rotational status of distal segment to calculate the rotation angle around proximal body fixed axis, there may be a situation in which the 3-D angles from NJCS are not consistent with clinical meaning. As clinicians, we present a hip motion which is thought as adduction but the NJCS angles report as flexion
