Abstract :
Under short-circuit condition, transient current induced latch-up is found in LDO regulators with feedback polysilicon resistors fabricated over N-well and with the N-well connected to LDO output. This may result in possible risk in applications especially when the output is shorted to ground. The latch-up mechanism was investigated in detail and the solution to this problem was also proposed. By designing a small resistor connected between the N-well and the output, the latch-up path cannot be triggered
