Abstract
In this paper, starting from the monostatic radar ambiguity function we derive the bistatic ambiguity function and the Cramer-Rao lower bounds (CRLB) of range (time delay) and velocity (Doppler shift) of a radar target in the case of linear frequency modulated (LFM) pulses embedded in white Gaussian noise. Moreover, we compare monostatic and bistatic CRLBs as a function of number of integrated pulses, target direction of arrival and bistatic baseline length.
