Abstract
This paper studies the low-frequency oscillations in Central China power grid and Sichuan-Chongqing power network. In order to suppress the Low-frequency oscillations, this paper adopts PSS sets to improve the weak damp oscillations of system, and participation factor method is used for finding the optimal location of PSS. When PSS are putted in relevant locations, the results from eigenvalue calculation and simulation analysis show that the weak damping oscillation modes of system are improved clearly, and the results are satisfying. The method and the conclusion in this paper have an important significance in analysis and study of low-frequency oscillations in Central China power grid, so do they in practical engineering project as well.
