Abstract :
An investigation of W band avalanche diode high order frequency mixer is presented. The nonlinearity property of avalanche breakdown effect has evoked great interest in frequency conversion by high order harmonic. Theoretical analysis of harmonic character of avalanche diode is outlined. In experiment, a minimum frequency conversion loss of 18.1dB is obtained by 15th harmonic frequency mixer based on avalanche diode.
