Abstract
In practical control problems, process constraints must be taken into account in the control design in order to optimize closed-loop performance. The authors describe how this is achieved for the predictive functional control technique. Input constraints are incorporated explicitly in the control calculations with different possible levels of optimality and state constraints are handled through a logic-based strategy. Simulation examples are given to illustrate the efficiency of both procedures
