Abstract :
Process automation is the core of business process management presenting opportunities to enhance organizations´ abilities to service new markets with new products and services. Both process improvement and process automation start with identification and definition of processes through process models. Although process models are common for both initiatives, they are frequently developed in different forms in completely different paths. As a result, considerable amount of resource and time is required for process modeling. There are various notations and languages for process modeling, however, modelers get lost in the notation crowd. This paper focuses on the need for a methodological approach for using process models both in process improvement and process automation.
