Abstract :
This paper describes the RCBA architecture, a new specialized reconfigurable architecture for block cipher that bridges the cost and performance gap between general purpose and application specific architecture for block cipher. We present implementations for representative algorithms of block cipher such as DES, Rijndael and RC6 on RCBA architecture. System performance was analyzed, and from this analysis it was demonstrated that the RCBA architecture can achieve both high security and high speed processing requirement
