Abstract
Comparing with non-salient pole generator, large salient-pole generator´s stator winding has generally more branches, so the related protection performance has some difference. In the paper, the related electric quantity change and protection performance are analyzed when generator stator winding breakage fault (SWBF) occurs, and the analysis results are confirmed by the dynamic simulation experiment. The analysis and experiment results show that the protection sensitivity to large salient-pole generator SWBF decreases because of stator winding´s multi-branch parallel structure, and in all protections, only the split-phase and unit transverse differential protection could protect the SWBF in certain degree.
