Visualization of zone activity and possession in soccer games

As data recording methods for soccer games develop, detailed game data is becoming more easily attainable. However, there are various ways in which to use the data to understand the game. We recorded data for every game in the 2011 J League. In soccer games the ball is always moving, it is difficult to digitally illustrate a soccer game, so we thought about ways to visualize the play data. Visualization methods of soccer games have been proposed.
