Abstract :
Active management (AM) is an effective method to network reinforcement for the connection and operation of distributed generation (DG). In this paper, the concept and principle of AM of distribution network are introduced, and the optimal power flow (OPF) model of AM problem is presented. A quantitative assessment system, which employs several technical and economic indices to assess both technical and economic impacts of AM on distribution network with DG, is put forward, and fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM) algorithm is introduced to simplify the simulation. The test results on a sample system represent that AM can reduce energy losses and improve voltage profile effectively. Furthermore, AM will take great economic incentives to DG developer as well as distribution network operator (DNO) with reasonable policy.
