Abstract :
The authors investigate the use of the robust stability degree assignment method in the controller design for the linearized model of a high-purity distillation column. Such a model has a high condition number, which is interesting from the viewpoint of control system design. Through suitable selection of the robust stability degree and the robustness function, a controller is obtained. Simulation results show that the given specifications have nearly been met by the proposed design
