Abstract :
As power networks in the market world have become better connected, and the number of potential options available has increased, the pressure for reliance on market operation mechanism has grown stronger. So a dynamic coordinating model is established to combine unbundled generation power market with traditional power system. Based on the linear dynamic mathematical model of coupled system including thyristor-controlled series compensator (TCSC), eigenvalue method of selecting optimal installation location of TCSC is presented. On the condition of TCSC control system using linear quadratic optimal control, system static security is analyzed in power market environment. Finally, the results in frequency domain for IEEE 30-bus test system show that the stability of coupled system is remarkably improved when linear control scheme is used by TCSC.
