Abstract
Along with advances in LED manufacturing technology software tools for device modelling have become available to support LED design work. Yet there is still a variety of fundamental problems in LED technology which are beyond the capabilities of standardized design methods. In this paper we discuss the suitability of modelling approaches for various issues in industrial LED design and development, the applicability and limitations of physical models and computation methods, the significance of the results, and the requirements for present and future tools
