Abstract :
Specifications of high power semiconductor components were compared with the intention of finding the most suitable solid state device for use as a switching element in a modern high speed circuit breaker. Although the main focus is on developing a solid state circuit breaker for DC traction circuits the concept will be usable over a much wider range of applications
