Abstract :
This paper reports the practice of normalized transient energy function (NEF) for transient stability assessment (TSA) in a realistic power network including transient stability control measures. Physical analysis of post-fault power system including stability measures such as generator tripping and load shedding controls is presented in the sense of NEF. The strategy for TSA using NEF is extended for power systems including stability control measures. TSA results on the power network of Henan province in China are given to validate the effectiveness of the NEF approach in TSA.
