Abstract
The work described is an ongoing investigation of attitude control (/spl pi//2 rad rotation) as well as vibration suppression of a very flexible structure. A nominal fuzzy logic controller was designed (see Zadeh et al., 1997, and Zadeh and Wood, 1999). The controller was used as a basis for design of an optimised fuzzy controller. Results show a clear improvement in performance of the controller in comparison to that of the nominal system.
