Abstract :
A new soft switched PWM converter in which the main and auxiliary switches turn on at zero current and turn off at zero voltage is discussed. Two added saturable inductors are operated to satisfy soft switching as well as to reduce reverse recovery current of diodes. In this paper, new switching operations of the suggested converter are suggested to reduce the pulse width of the conduction period of the auxiliary switch. This width is about 1/20 of the main switch for half duty ratio of 250 kHz operation. The above characteristics are verified by experimental results for a 250 kHz operation
