Abstract :
The authors have worked out the kinetics of the sodium inactivation process by the application of voltage-clamp technique using AXOCLAMP-2A. Three measurements were made for the analysis and determination of kinetics of sodium current, namely time course of development of inactivation, time course of recovery from inactivation, and steady-state value of inactivation as a function of potential-revealed second-order kinetics not incorporated in the classical Hodgkin-Huxley equations for the h inactivation parameter.<>
