Abstract
This paper proposes a single-switch buck-boost type dither PFC power converter using a center-tapped transformer. The conventional single-switch PFC power converter has a problem in the voltage rise on the smoothing capacitor at light load. The new circuit proposed in this paper solves this problem. The circuit makes use of the center tap of the transformer winding with no additional parts or control circuits being required
