Abstract
An improved method for addition or multiplication of value sets that reduces the resulting number of grid points considerably is suggested. The advantage of the proposed method compared to earlier methods comes from excluding the boundary point combinations by comparing normal directions. Hence the computational reduction is smaller for polygons with a small number of normal directions. An example involving a mass-spring damper system is used to illustrate the proposed approach
