Abstract
This paper presents an overview of new approach for orthotic and prosthetic design using 3D reconstruction image from multiple views method. The major interest in orthopaedic field is the need for portable and "easy to use" sensor even with small precision. The use of digital camera or video camera is one way to design such sensor and the multiple view approach seems to be suitable for that purpose. 3D digitalisation systems applied to the orthopaedic domain allow freeing from manual impression during orthotic and prosthetic design. Our preliminary result based on some selected object with similar looks like limbs shape shows the capability and possibility of successful implementation of multiple views method for orthotic and prosthetic design in future.
