Abstract :
Recently, considerable attention has been paid to some new materials due to the rapid evolution of materials technology. Bi-isotropic material is a very important and attractive one of all these new materials. Under intensive attention, several applications, such as absorption materials, chiro-microstrip antennas, chiro-waveguides and twisted polarizers, have been developed based on this newly emerged material. Although bi-isotropic material is recognized as one of the most promising new materials in electromagnetic community, there still are several challenges. One primary challenge comes with the presence of the bi-isotropic constitutive relationship, which couples the electric and magnetic fields with each other, and results a set of complicated Maxwell equations. Many works have been conducted to solve this challenge, develop a numerical solution and then obtain the ability to accurately predict the fields interactions associated with such material, especially for the case of bodies of revolution. The scattering problem of bodies of revolution plays an important role for its rotational symmetry could reduce the computer storage and time required dramatically. A numerical solution used to solve scattering from inhomogeneous dielectric bodies of revolution was developed by A. A. Kucharski, but it can´t be used to solve the case of inhomogeneous bi- isotropic bodies of revolution. Based on our previous work, a numerical solution using volume integral equation is developed in this paper for the scattering problem from inhomogeneous bi-isotropic bodies of revolution.
