Abstract :
The efficiency of the nonlinear processes in optical fibers (OFs) depends both on the specific material and waveguide parameters of the fibers and on the basic pump-laser parameters-intensity and spectral bandwidth. In the paper the authors report on the generation of a wide-band continuum (530-930nm) with nonlinear conversion efficiency exceeding 90% under powerful excitation of a single-mode OF with a broad-band nonselective dye laser, as well as on the investigation of the spectral pump-laser bandwidth influence on this continuum
