Abstract
In the present study, numerical investigations are performed on cascaded phase shift, all-optical intensity modulation and spatial soliton in quadratic media with nonuniform distributions of phase mismatch. The wavevector mismatch (/spl Delta/k) associated with SHG is assumed to vary as a step function along the beam propagation direction. For each purpose, the /spl Delta/k distribution is optimized.
