Abstract :
We investigate thermoelastic processes in metal materials exposed to high intensity ions and electrons. The dynamics of the stress and heat-transport has been obtained numerically. We have observed that the temporary evolution of the stress leads to formation of a localized structure. This may, in turn, explain the structural-phase changes of the surface treated, which are observed from the experiments
