  • Abstract
    The authors designed a procedure-forwarding mechanism and developed an electronic mail system named PilotMail. PilotMail provides the basis of an asynchronous communication environment suitable for group work in which a sender can guide receiver´s behavior. Also realized was a communication environment in which speaking and acting are well coordinated on the basis of the integration of the procedure-forwarding mechanism, the structured-mail technologies, and the conversation management mechanism. A prototype system was developed in an Objectworks/Smalltalk environment
