Abstract
A Portable Automated Lidar (PAL) system was designed to measure the aerosol and cloud optical properties. The system will operate with high repetition rate, diode-pumped, frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser and self-automated, self protected measurement units. The PAL system will be also much cheap than present same performance lidar system.
