Abstract
This paper presents part of a more extensive work to solve the equilibrium point between the spinning reserve margin and the load shedding scheme as a consequence of generation failure so as to compensate economical transfers between generators and consumers. This paper analyses the effect of generation failures for different reserve levels considering a full dynamic representation. To this purpose, the SIME (Single Machine Equivalent) concept is been adapted to obtain from its results an OMIB (One Machine Infinity Bus) model of the power system. Preliminary results show the it is possible to find a decelerating energy function whose principal characteristics is to be linear with respect to system frequency. This equation will be then transfer to the economic area containing hence system dynamics.
