Abstract :
We propose a new and efficient method of analyzing leaky waveguides where we graphically find the extreme reflectivity of a light ray incident from one side of the outermost cladding toward the leaky waveguide. Such a field, called the leaky bound mode by us, is briefly described and numerical examples are presented
