  • Abstract
Distant virtual experiment is a variety of virtual experiment environments realized on the Internet by use of multimedia technology and virtual reality technology. Distant virtual experiment is indispensable to modern distant education. This study aims to build up an abstract-formal model of virtual experiment systems by applying object-oriented technology and UML to implement efficiently customized development of virtual experiment systems among different disciplines. This paper presents the status quo of the study, provides an abstract model of 3-tuple group on the basis of analyzing the process and formation of a real learning experiment, and discusses the static and dynamic models of virtual experiment processes based on UML, including the class structure of the experiment object. In the end, we give some information about a prototype system developed by using these concepts
