Abstract :
This paper covers the design, programming, and testing of a neural-fuzzy control system. The system is a closed-loop motor controller with the fuzzy control function implemented with a digital microcontroller. The hardware design of the control board is discussed from the standpoint of design issues related to insuring that accuracy and timing needed for a fuzzy logic controller are met. The design of the fuzzy logic control function using a neural network is discussed from the standpoint of insuring that control parameters are satisfied. The assembly language programming of the microcontroller is discussed from a systems level perspective and covers the setting of timers to control loop times to insure correct operation. Experimental data for the performance is given in the discussion of testing
