Abstract :
New arrangements are studied to increase the performance of the automatic modulation recognition algorithm proposed by Elsayed-Elsayed Azzouz and Asoke Kumar Nandi based on statistical methods (see "Automatic Modulation Recognition of Communication Signals", Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1996; Signal Processing, vol.46, p.211-22, 1995). To increase the performance, the algorithm proposed by Azzouz and Nandi is first arranged in a new form that recognizes between analog and digital modulation. For this purpose, a new algorithm that differentiates analog and digital modulation is developed. Then, in order to increase the performance of the algorithm recognizing analog modulation, a new method is proposed. It is observed that the performance of the algorithm increases after these arrangements.
