Abstract :
The proposal of limiting low frequency interharmonic voltages is critically analyzed. Some constructive limitations of the IEC Flickermeter about its ability of measuring interharmonic effects are highlighted. The sensitivity of IEC recommended signal processing to desynchronized interharmonics and of the Flickermeters to some synergic effects of interharmonic components is investigated. Results from a numerical implementation of the IEC Flickermeter are reported in order to discuss the aforementioned issues.
