Abstract :
Large area synchronized code division multiple access (LAS-CDMA) technology is an excellent CDMA technology an can be applied in the future mobile communication systems. If the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technique is integrated into LAS-CDMA system, better performance can be obtained. For example, in such MIMO-LAS-CDMA system, many antennas are used in each transmitter to transmit data of the same user and the data streams of each antenna are different and even independent. On the standpoint of the subscribers, the system capacity is greatly enhanced. It is said that the system has realized the multiplexing operation. Meanwhile, many antennas are also used in the receiver to receive the same data stream, so that the receiving diversity of space is achieved. Through reducing the bit-error-rate (BER), it helps to increase the system performance all in all. The LAS multiple access codes with spreading factor 32 is used in the simulation and the BER performance of such MIMO-LAS-CDMA system is given for some certain examples.
