Abstract
This paper introduces an simple background about common mode current and the associated effects, like electromagnetic interference (EMI) in power leads and the overvoltage on motor terminals, that are also studied and showed when the static converter are separated by considerable distance. The simplified method to design EMI filters to input and output converter is included. The simulations are running by MATLAB/Simulink Software. The analysis on Spectral Content is based on time x frequency correlation of the trapezoidal pulse. The measurement was realized to meet EMC Product Standard IEC 1800-3 for Adjustable Speed Electrical Drive Systems.
