Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new multiplier that can support Galois fields over GF (p) and GF (2n) for the public-key cryptography, and field over GF (28) for the symmetric-key cryptography. This core multiplier can be used to process both public-key and symmetric-key cryptosystems such as the Elliptic Curve Cryptography(ECC) and the Advanced Encryption Standard(AES). The proposed multiplier increases the flexibility of security schemes and reduces the total cost of cryptosystems.
