Abstract :
Probability distribution of the channel holding time in cellular mobile communication is found using cell residence time distribution under general mobility conditions. It is shown that cell residence time distribution can be specified by the generalized gamma distribution. Based on the result it is shown that the negative exponential distribution is a good approximation for the channel holding time distribution in cellular mobile communication systems
