Abstract
Several sensors have been used to detect buried objects, such as GPR (ground penetrating radar) and EMI (electromagnetic induction) sensors. IR (infrared) and acoustic sensors are supportive sensors which are used with an EMI sensor or GPR. The paper focuses mainly on two sensors, a main EMI sensor and a support IR sensor. The EMI sensor´s output signal and IR sensor´s output image are determined and also how to get mine detection information from these outputs. Landmine detection, which is important for military and humanitarian purposes, is used as a case study.
