Abstract :
The sea bottom in a region of the Marmara Sea was measured by a multi beam echo sounder, DGPS and a side scan sonar system; a map was produced using the amplitude and coordinate information. This map was later transformed into ten dimensional texture space by texture analysis. The iso-data (iteratively self organizing data) clustering technique was then employed to generate different sea bottom classes.
