Abstract :
A test facility for evaluating capacitors at up to 3.3 MW of average power for 60 s and 1.4 MW continuously is described. Voltage levels up to 44 kV and repetition rates up to 5 kHz can be obtained. Also included in the test facility are a hipot and corona evaluation system and digitizer diagnostics. Fiber-optic sensors permit temperatures to be monitored at high voltage and in oil environments
