Abstract
Clipping and Filtering on the Oversampled signal samples (CFO) is a simply and effective peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) reduction method for OFDM signal. However, the PAR- reduction performance and the bit error ratio (BER) performance of CFO are conflicting with each other. An analysis framework is proposed to select the optimum clipping ratio (CR) which optimizes the consumed power-to-noise ratio (SNRC). Simulation shows CFO with the optimum CR can obtain about 2 dB SNRC gain compared to the original OFDM signal in the AWGN channel.
