Abstract :
A comparison is made of two computerized systems for measuring stride characteristics. The two systems are The Rancho Los Amigos Foot Stride Analyzer and the Motion Analysis Corporation System. Twenty-six subjects with cerebral palsy have been measured on both systems. For each patient, the average velocity, cadence and stride length were obtained. The method of Bland and Altman (1986) is used to compare the results. The authors results indicate that values for individuals cannot be compared between systems. Using transformation formulae, values for groups may be comparable. This analysis is an example for comparing two systems when neither is the current `gold standard´
