Abstract :
The aim of this article is to present a new measure of image degradation based on a joint spatial/spatial-frequency representation using the Wigner-Ville distribution. The developed measure is tested on some known image degradations. The obtained results demonstrate the efficiency of the measure in predicting image quality as compared to classical distortion measures such as signal-to-noise ratio
