Abstract :
In general, a microstrip antenna has a narrow 3-dB AR bandwidth. Techniques for achieving wideband impedance and 3-dB AR bandwidth characteristics in the practical design of circular polarization (CP) antennas are important. This paper describes a method to enhance the AR bandwidth of a CP microstrip single-feed ring antenna (SFRA). The experimental results verify that the antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 34% and a 3-dB AR bandwidth of more than 33%.
