Abstract :
A turbo-type scheme that uses parallel concatenation and turbo block decision feedback equalization (TBDFE) is proposed for transmission over linear intersymbol interference channels. The scheme can offer significant improvement in performance. The performance gain is even higher when the detector uses an imperfect channel estimate. In the case of SNR mismatch, both TBDFE and the conventional iterative block-based DFE (IBDFE) algorithms are more sensitive to SNR overestimation than underestimation.
