  • Abstract
This work describes the possibilities for the earth fault detection at the compensated neutral networks and represents one practical solution - a developed universal earth-fault indicator (UEI), which is allowed to detect the earth-faults at the compensated neutral cable networks and the fault detection with the fault indicators, which is connected into distribution network SCADA system by the radio signals. The universal earth-fault indicator is realized as a directional zero-sequence protection device based on comparison of the time when zero-sequence current and zero-sequence voltage occurred with the given time. There are presented block-diagram of the universal earth-fault indicator and working algorithms e.t.c. A pilot project "integration of the fault indicators into the distribution network SCADA system" has reviewed which was carried out at Jelgava cable distribution networks in the year 2003.
